Simple Drills for Effortless Power and a Push Draw: Improve Your Golf Swing in Argyle

At Dennis Sales Golf Academy, we believe the best golf lessons combine simple, effective drills with clear explanations. Whether you’re practicing at our indoor golf training center in Argyle, TX, or working on your swing at home, these two concepts can help you swing from the inside and generate more force naturally.

1️⃣ Medicine Ball Throws

One of our favorite training tools is the medicine ball. Throwing it helps golfers develop the feel of loading and releasing power through the swing arc. It’s easy to grasp and directly transfers to how you should deliver force through the ball.

2️⃣ Ground Stroke in Tennis

Think of a tennis ground stroke — it’s all about sequence and timing. Applying this same idea late in your downswing trains your body to move efficiently and strike the ball with proper rotation and flow.

Combine these two moves:

  • Use the medicine ball throw feel early in the downswing.

  • Use the ground stroke feel late in the downswing.

This combo has always helped me, and it works wonders for my students here at the academy.

Why This Matters for Your Game

Many golfers struggle to hit from the inside or to generate enough swing speed without losing control. These simple drills fix both problems by training your body to move in sequence and to deliver force where it counts — at impact.

At Dennis Sales Golf Academy, serving Argyle, Denton, Flower Mound, Lantana, Robson Ranch, and surrounding communities, we focus on turning complicated swing ideas into simple feels that you can repeat and trust under pressure.
